Petcha Bushy is a series of events looking to promote a feminist and intersectional dialogue within the arts community in Calgary. This series of events will remain free and informal in nature.
We are thrilled to have local comedian Sarah Adams host our first event, a drop-in pecha kucha exchange.
Participate in whatever way you wish: bring something to share with the group, such as your favourite YouTube video, poem, short story or other text. Perform a joke, share an experience, bring a potluck dish, read from your teenage diary or introduce the group to an interesting friend. Or, just bring yourself and listen. Dialogue will spring from what you share. No need to sign up in advance, and we will have a computer and projector avialable for use.
Sharing will be informal, maybe fun and maybe serious, and we will do our best to make sure everyone present feels welcomed and connected. Expect to sit around with new friends, eat some snacks, and talk.
All are invited. This event is all-ages, kid-friendly and the space is wheelchair accessible.
Petcha Bushy is a collaboration between The New Gallery, Stride, Untitled Art Society, TRUCK Contemporary Art in Calgary, and M:ST Performative Arts Festival.
