Next Up Calgary invites you to the 5th annual Community Connection. Held on Treaty 7 land, the traditional territory of the Blackfoot, Tsuu T'ina and Stoney Nations, shared with the Metis people and the settler people of southern Alberta.
#CCYYC5 will be at the CommunityWise Resource Center at 223 12 Ave SW, Calgary on February 11th. Doors open at 9:00 am. Programming will start at 9:30 am. and wind up at 4:30 pm. You will require a pre-purchased ticket to attend.
Learn about exciting community initiatives in our city, foster connections with individuals who share your passions and discover the unique impact that you can have in shaping the world around you.The day includes workshops and the marketplace of ideas. Lunch is provided.
The program includes workshops, the marketplace of ideas and loads of opportunities for networking and having fun, plus a delicious Lunch (12-1). At 3 pm, Olympian Erica Wiebe will be giving the Keynote presentation. The day's topics and presenters include: Robyn Luff MLA, the Women's Centre of Calgary, the Alberta Network of Immigrant Serving Agencies, Artivism, Composting with worms, Calgary Food Resilience, Why Ask Her? - women in city politics, and the Treaty 7 Film Collective . There will be live music by Jiggity James, a family chill out room and space for free creative activities. You can join in and power our sound using Open Streets' generator bike, or make DIY buttons.
